Stop before you’re stopped
We grew up being told to “give it your best”, “go above and beyond”, “the obstacle is the way”, “never give up”. And so we keep going and push harder and faster continuously. Until we are forced to stop because our body becomes ill or injured. Until the reality around us stops us on our tracks, because of gravity, or inertia or other natural rules.
We were brought up to believe that we humans can do anything and in some ways that is why we are dealing with a Climate Crisis and so many other issues around the world.
So, when you’re doing something, do it well, but stop before you are stopped. Follow Hemingway and leave that last paragraph unfinished so that you’ll have something to look forward to tomorrow, in a healthy way.
